The story behind the Chloe Bruce Academy
As we start a new Year, I wanted to kick off by sharing my story. The incredible journey that led to the creation of the Chloe Bruce Academy – a dream nurtured with passion, shaped by resilience, and now, a reality that I am honoured to share with each and every one of you.
🥋 From World Champion to Stunt Woman: My martial arts journey began with a fire in my heart and a relentless pursuit of excellence. I became World Champion in Traditional Forms and Open Hand Musical Forms at the the age of 13 years old. I tasted the sweet victory of hard work and dedication, and went on to be reigning World Champion for over a decade within the sport. 10 years later I transitioned into the world of stunt work, where I discovered the magic of storytelling through physical expression. I have been fortunate enough to double for the likes of Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy, Rey in Star Wars, Sif in Thor, Luv in Bladerunner 2049…. the list is endless.
👩👧👦 Becoming a Mum: Life took an extraordinary turn when I embraced the role of motherhood. I became a mum in 2017, when my husband, Adam, and I welcomed our daughter, Harriet, into the World. To add to the Whirlwind of motherhood, 2 years later we had our son, George, who completed our little family. It’s a journey that added a new dimension to my identity. Balancing the demands of parenthood with my love for martial arts was a challenge, but it also fueled my determination to create something meaningful for others navigating similar paths.
💼 Fronting My Own Business: The Chloe Bruce Academy was born out of a desire to create a space where martial arts enthusiasts, parents, and individuals from all walks of life could come together. This isn’t just a digital academy; it’s a haven for learning, growth, and mutual support. I wanted to bridge the gap between traditional martial arts and the modern, digital era, offering accessible and high-quality training to a global community. I wanted to still be able to teach all over the World, even if that meant not physically hopping on a plane every week.
🌈 Inspiration, Humility, and Love: This journey has taught me the power of inspiration – how a single spark can ignite a thousand flames. It’s taught me humility – that growth comes not just from success, but from the lessons learned in challenges. And above all, it’s taught me love – for the craft, for the community, and for the incredible individuals who make up the CBA family.
🌍 A Global Tribe of Warriors: My vision is simple yet profound – to empower a global tribe of warriors, united by a love for martial arts, resilience, and the pursuit of personal excellence. The Chloe Bruce Academy is not just my creation; it’s a collective space where we uplift and inspire each other.
